Bio: Dr. Bhat is a board-certified hematologist/ medical oncologist who has formed a niche in breast oncology. She joined BSW at Temple's main campus in 2011 soon after completing her fellowship, and her medical practice mostly consists of breast cancer patients. She also supervises the trainee fellows in their continuity clinic and is one of the core faculty in Baylor Scott & White's 3-year hem-oncology fellowship program.
Dr. Bhat has been the site director of NSABP and is currently the chair of the breast tumor board, a weekly interdisciplinary case discussion conference, where NCCN guidelines and optimal treatment options for all their breast cancer patients are discussed. She is passionate about taking care of breast cancer patients and believes in providing them with a comprehensive, yet personalized care plan when it comes to their cancer. Their clinic offers several state-of-the-art treatments like novel chemotherapies, biotherapies, targeted therapies, and immunotherapies. In addition to these standard treatments, she strives to bring on relevant and pertinent clinical trials that would benefit our breast cancer patients. She frequently offers second and third-opinion consults on complicated cases that are referred from our peripheral clinics.
